November 21, 2020 - International Day for People Impacted by Suicide Loss (renamed from Survivor Day) is a day each year when people affected by suicide loss gather around the world at events in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope. Last year, there were close to 400 events in more than 20 countries.
The important thing to remember is that International Day for People Impacted by Suicide Loss has 3 main goals:
Join us on Saturday November 21st, 2020 between 1:00pm to 2:30pm EST for a virtual screening of a powerful testimonial video to commemorate International Day for People Impacted by Suicide Loss (or, as known in the USA, International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day/ Survivor’s Day). This day marks the one day a year when people impacted by suicide loss, no matter where they live, can come together as communities to find and offer comfort and to remember their loved ones as they share stories of loss, healing and hope.
Our video explores the experiences of four individuals who have lost someone to suicide, taking them from the initial period of their loss to the present day. This video will be followed by presentations and Q/A sessions with two prominent community members who will discuss and reflect on their personal loss journey.
Separate events will be held at the same time in English and in French.Note: This is a LIVE Event. These sessions will NOT be recorded. As virtual seating space is limited, we ask as a courtesy, that if you have registered and are unable to attend the event, please let us know.
