On January 28, 2014, Canadians are encouraged once again to take part in Bell Let’s Talk Day to fight the stigma surrounding mental health. When we approach mental health from a place of compassion and non-judgment we create a healing environment for those living with mental illness to seek care with dignity, hope and acceptance.

Whether a person is dealing with thoughts of suicide, grief, or mental illness, being an empathic listener can provide tremendous relief and comfort. Brené Brown reminds us that “ … what makes something better is connection,” in her brilliant short video on The Power of Empathy.
